Delectable and Delicious Roasted Pulled Pork

This is an easy to prepare pulled pork recipe. This involves simply picking up a pork shoulder from your local super market. Make sure to ask for a 5 lb butt (which is actually the shoulder, go figure) and pick up these ingredients):  

  • 5-7 pork butt/shoulder  
  • 1 tablespoon sea salt  
  • 1 tablespoon garlic sea salt (or, you can use garlic powder and extra sea salt instead)  
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder 
  •  1 tablespoon mustard powder 
  •  1 tablespoon dark brown sugar  
  • 3 tablespoons sweet smoky paprika  

Follow these steps:  

Combine all seasonings. Rub the pork butt down hard! Be vigorous.  

Wrap the pork butt in plastic wrap and let sit in your fridge for 1 hour. 

Afterwards, preheat the outdoor grill to 300 degrees and place the pork in a roasting pan.  

Roast the meat for five to six hours. 

After 5 hours, baste the meat with barbecue sauce. A good point to baste the pork is when it is at 170 degrees and take the meat out when it is at 190 degrees, at the 6 hour mark.  

Finally, conduct the fork test. If it falls apart, it’s ready!
Ultra Easy Chicken Kabobs

If you want to enjoy your outdoor kitchen but don’t feel like taking large amounts of time over the grill, this ultra easy chicken kabobs recipe is your solution during those hot summer days. Your time is better spent with your feet in the kiddy pool anyway!  

This is what you will need:
  • 1 Bottle of vegetable oil 
  • 1/3 cup of honey  
  • 1/3 cup of soy sauce  
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper 
  • 8 Skinless, boneless chicken breast halves, cut into 1 inch cubes 
  • 2 cloves of garlic  
  • 5 small onions, cut into two inch pieces  
  • 2 red bell peppers, cut into two inch pieces 
  • Lots of Skewers

Follow these steps:  

First, get a large bowl. Whisk together honey, oil, pepper and the soy sauce. Reserve a small amount of the marinade before to brush onto the kabobs before adding the chicken. Put everything into a bowl, and marinate the mix in the fridge for at least two hours, preferably overnight if you can. 

Second, pre heat your grill for high heat. This is usually around 450 degrees.  

When this is ready, you want to thread the skewers chicken and vegetables alternately onto skewers after draining the marinade. Make sure to reserve some marinade for basting.  

Finally, lightly oil the grill plate. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for 12 to 15 minutes, until the juices run clear. Baste and brush the skewers frequently during cooking.
Veggie Grill Burgers

Here is a great vegan option during those summertime cookouts  

All you need are 10 simple ingredients. This recipe comes together in about one half hour, after your brown rice is cooked.  

Get these ingredients together:
 
Blend toasted walnuts with your favorite spices  
Saute a pan full of onions until caramelized (we like red Vidalia) 
Mash 1 lb of black beans  
Stir and mash like crazy  

This should be enough for 4 to 6 burgers, depending on the size and texture. Bon Appetit!
